#MyDaughterWill

A social awakening initiative whose aim is to give Hindu daughters the same rights as sons to perform a parent’s last rites.

About the initiative

In the India of the past, daughters were married off early and sons looked after their parents till the end. So it was but natural that the son would perform the last rites.
However, in many families today, daughters look after their parents, both financially and physically. So should they not have the same rights as sons to perform the last rites?
We wish to make it socially acceptable for girls to perform the last rites of their parents.

Make a Difference, Change your will

Add a clause to your last will and testament to ensure that your daughter is permitted to perform the last rites. Help us spread the message of equality by making a change.

PLEASE NOTE: This Sample Will has to be replicated on actual stamped paper to become legally valid and has to be signed by the parent, the daughter and a lawyer.
